More Info:

1) It is a breaking glaze, Gives green, blue , grey colors in a texture. It has floating characteristics.

2) Recommended specific gravity of a liquid glaze is 1.35-1.40  to get the expected results. Use 1:1 Glaze to water ratio when mixing of glaze

3) Recommended dipping time for different clay bodies, (If you are using Clay station clays)

  • For Ivory (Porosity at bisque - 15%-17%) - 1 to 2 seconds
  • For Sandalwood (Porosity at bisque -12% -13%) - 3 to 4 seconds
  • For Coffee brown (Porosity at bisque -12% -13%) - 3 to 4 seconds

If other clay bodies are used, check with the Clay body bisque porosities to ensure the appropriate dipping time for the good results.

4) Runny in nature, Maintain the Specific gravity and thickness of a glaze on the surface of the article to avoid running of glaze from ware while firing.

5) The color and feel of the glaze might vary from that in the picture as it is difficult to capture the same.

6) The glazes have been tried and tested on stoneware clay bodies.

7) The samples in the pictures have gone through oxidation firing in SKUTT Electric Kilns at ^6 medium firing with hold for 30 minutes.

8) This glaze is lead free, non- toxic and food safe.

9) Our glazes will not be in a liquid form to be brushed on the pieces. We recommend dipping/ pouring/spraying techniques with these glazes

Note:

Avoid thicker application of glaze on Ivory to avoid dripping of glaze (Try with test pieces to understand the glaze thickness and dipping time of glaze)

Leave 2-3 mm unglazed from the bottom of the ware to avoid sticking of glaze from the shelves.

* Cone 6 firing without holding time also eleminate the dripping of Glaze

Safety Warning
1) We recommend Tableware producers to test all finished ware to validate food safety standards in dinnerware products, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

2)While mixing glazes in powder form, ensure usage of mask, to prevent inhalation of chemicals.
