Pebble Grey

This glaze from the microcrystalline series is an opaque, non-reflective matte grey. The glaze breaks into shades of brown on the surface of the clay body.

The glaze tends to interact with the exposed surface of the dark bodies to give a toasty finish.

Application Instructions:

1. Wash your articles a day prior to your glaze application day.
2. Keep the washed articles covered.
3. Let the articles be dry when you decide to glaze.
4. Dip/Pour/Spray the glaze.
5. This being a speciality glaze; Thick and thin application, iron content in your clay body, porosity of the clay, will give you a varying results, so do an application test.

More Info:

1) Specific gravity of a mixed glaze should be maintain between 1.35-1.4 for consistent results

2) Recommended dipping time for different clay bodies, (If you are using Clay station clays)

• For Ivory (Porosity at bisque - 15-17%) - 2 to 3 seconds 
• For Sandalwood (Porosity at bisque - 12-13%) - 4 to 5 seconds

If other clay bodies are used, check with the Clay body bisque porosities to ensure the appropriate dipping time for the good results
3) The colour and feel of the glaze might vary from that in the picture as it is difficult to capture the same.
4) The glazes have been tried and tested with different stoneware clay bodies.
5) The samples in the pictures have gone through oxidation firing in SKUTT Electric Kilns at ^6 medium firing with hold for 40 minutes.
6) Most of our glazes are food safe, unless specified otherwise
7) Our glaze cannot be brushed on pieces. We recommend dipping/ pouring/spraying techniques with these glazes.

Note:

Drop/hold firing is suggested if any Blistering issues happening
