More Info:

1) It is a breaking glaze, crystallize in different colors (Blue, green and black).

2) Recommended specific gravity of a liquid glaze is 1.30-1.35 to get the expected glaze. Change in the specific gravity will cause different in color texture of fired glaze.

Turns into white when the specific gravity and the thickness is more, and turns into green when the specific gravity and the thickness is less

1.35 Specific and 3 sec dipping time gives consistent results on Claystation Sandalwood clay body

3) Recommended dipping time for different clay bodies, (If you are using Clay station clays)

  • For Ivory (Porosity at bisque - 15-17%) - 1 to 2 seconds
  • For Sandalwood (Porosity at bisque - 12-13%) - 3 to 4 seconds
  • For Volcanic Black (Porosity at bisque -12% -13%) - 4 to 5 seconds

If other clay bodies are used, check with the Clay body bisque porosities to ensure the appropriate dipping time for the good results

4) Maintain the Specific gravity and thickness of a glaze on the surface of the article to avoid running of glaze during firing

5) The color and feel of the glaze might vary from that in the picture as it is difficult to capture the same

6) The glaze has been tried and tested on white and dark stoneware clay bodies.

7) The samples in the picture have gone through oxidation firing in SKUTT Electric Kilns at ^6 medium firing with hold for 30 minutes.

8) To avoid glaze running from the ware, Reduce the holding time or fire it without holding time or soaking time.

9) This glaze is lead free, non- toxic and food safe

10) Our glazes will not be in a liquid form to be brushed on the pieces. We recommend dipping/ pouring/spraying techniques with these glazes

Note: Possibility of dunting with thicker application in thin flat surfaces.

Safety Warning
1) We recommend Tableware producers to test all finished ware to validate food safety standards in dinnerware products, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

2)While mixing glazes in powder form, ensure usage of mask, to prevent inhalation of chemicals.
