It is a Snowflake crackle glaze base with an Turquoise blue color finish.

Ideal for for white clay bodies.

Non food safe glaze. Not for the dinnerware purpose.

More Info:

1) It is a crackle glaze. Creates snowflake effect when applied thicker.

2) Recommended specific gravity of a liquid glaze is 1.40-1.50 to get the expected results. 

3) Recommended dipping time for different clay bodies, (If you are using Clay station clays)

  • For Ivory (Porosity at bisque - 15%-17%) - 10 to 15 seconds, S.G 1.40-1.45
  • For Sandalwood (Porosity at bisque -12% -13%) - 5 to 10 seconds, SG 1.45-1.50
  • For Coffee brown (Porosity at bisque -12% -13%) - 4 to 5 seconds, SG 1.45-1.50

If other clay bodies are used, check with the Clay body bisque porosities to ensure the appropriate dipping time for the good results.  

4) The color and feel of the glaze might vary from that in the picture as it is difficult to capture the same.

5) The glazes have been tried and tested on white and dark stoneware clay bodies.

6) The samples in the pictures have gone through oxidation firing in SKUTT Electric Kilns at ^6 medium firing 

7) To avoid glaze running from the ware, Reduce the holding time or fire it without holding time or soaking time. 

8) This glaze is a non-food safe glaze. Can be used for Decorative wares

9) Our glazes will not be in a liquid form to be brushed on the pieces. We recommend dipping/ pouring/spraying techniques with these glazes

Note:

  • Apply it very thicker to get the snowflake effect. If any prefiring cracks forms after dipping, wash the glaze off . It would cause crawling defect during the firing
  • This glaze will hard pan (Settles very quick). Add 0.1-0.2% Epsom salts to avoid hard panning of glaze
  • Pinholing and Blistering might happen on dark clay bodies. Test it before going for the mass production
  • Recommended to put Drop hold firing schedule to avoid pinholing and blistering

1) We recommend Tableware producers to test all finished ware to validate food safety standards in dinnerware products, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

2)While mixing glazes in powder form, ensure usage of mask, to prevent inhalation of chemicals.
