Product Information

To ensure a smooth and successful bisque firing process, please review the following damage penalty guidelines:

1. Responsibility for Damage

  • Artists are responsible for any damage caused to the kiln or kiln shelves by their pieces during bisque firing.

2. Types of Damage

  • Damage may include, but is not limited to:
    • Cracking or breaking of kiln shelves.
    • Melting of materials that adhere to shelves.
    • Any other damage resulting from improperly prepared pieces.

3. Assessment of Damage

  • The studio will conduct an assessment of any damage following the firing.
  • Documentation of damage will be recorded, including photographs and detailed descriptions.

4. Penalty Fees

  • Artists will incur fees based on the extent of the damage assessed:
    • Minor Damage: ₹500 (e.g., breakages of pieces that require vacuuming the kiln).
    • Moderate and Severe Damage: Fees for moderate and severe damage to kiln shelves and components will be assessed by the studio, and the artist will be contacted separately regarding the fee.
    • Artists will be notified of any penalties assessed and will be required to pay the fees before picking up the pieces

5. Preventive Measures

  • To minimize the risk of damage:
    • Ensure all pieces are fully dry before drop-off.
      • Optimal Thickness: Ensure that your handbuilt pieces have a consistent thickness . This helps prevent cracking and ensures even firing.
      • The studio team may inspect your pieces for thickness before firing. If any pieces are deemed too thick or uneven, they may be returned for adjustments.
